The smoking ordinance bans people from smoking in restaurants, bars and certain vehicles.
The vote on the ban in North Myrtle Beach early February was close. Mayor Marilyn Hatley and council members Fred Coyne, Jay Baldwin and Hank Thomas voted in favor of the ordinance. Bob Cavanaugh, Terry White and Greg Duckworth voted against it.
Council did remove mention of e-cigarettes from the ordinance.
