MYRTLE BEACH -- On a blustery Veterans Day morning, at 11 a.m. on 11-11-11, Myrtle Beach paused to remember the men and women who have served and are still serving in our military.

The ceremony was held at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.

Rolling Thunder presented the Missing Man Table, where a place is set for each of branch of the nation's military to represent those who were held as prisoner of war or reported missing in action in Vietnam.

Special recognition was given to the Seabees, members of the United States Navy who handled construction projects during WWII.  And a happy birthday was wished to the US Marine Corps, which celebrated turning 236 on Thursday.

After the ceremony, NewsChannel 15 photojournalist Aaron Varnam asked Jack Rowan, a former Army Chaplin, what the day meant to him. His honest and moving answer is the video attached to this story.
