GEORGETOWN -- Georgetown County sheriff's deputies arrested Jerrod Trappier, 29, of Georgetown, after he failed to stop for their blue lights Thursday afternoon.

Deputies responded to an address on Pickens Street in the Kensington community because someone reported a suspicious person walking through yards. A resident confronted the man, who then got into a car and drove off.

While in the area, deputies spotted a car matching the suspect's at a stop sign and tried to stop him.

Deputies say Trappier threw something out the window and ditched the car a few blocks away on Sorrel Street.

Deputies searched the car and found out the owner lived on Montford Street. Deputies went to the address and heard three men talking about what happened.

Deputies knocked on the door and demanded IDs from the men. They say Trappier admitted being the driver of the vehicle.

He's charged with Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Driving Under Suspension and Possession of Marijuana.
