Thousands of women ran the half marathon Sunday morning.

More than 4,000 women ran the streets of North Myrtle Beach Sunday for the city's first Diva Half-Marathon and 5K races.
The female based half-marathon is held primarily in vacation destinations. Other races have been in Long Island, NY; San Juan, PR; Honnolulu, HI; and San Francisco Bay, CA.
It's all about female empowerment.
"You see women of all shapes and sizes it's wonderful just to see people out and moving," said Molly Karpenko from Murrells Inlet.
Runners received tiaras and feather boas as they ran the 13.1 mile route.
The route ran along Ocean Boulevard, the horseshoe, around Surf, Golf and Beach Club and ended on Main Street.
In addition to the runners, hundreds of volunteers and spectators, known as the "Diva Entourage" filled the streets of downtown.
"It's definitely inspiring, you can tell that they're excited and we're excited to cheer them on. I know she's going to feel amazing when she's done. I'm just so proud about that," said Nicholas Destefano, who was cheering on his wife.
