A traffic stop Thursday afternoon in Myrtle Beach led to the arrest of a man wanted under several different warrants out of Georgia.

Quanell Tahon Gee, 22, of Aynor was arrested and charged by Myrtle Beach police for Disregarding a Stop Sign, Driving with a Suspended License and Resisting Arrest/False Information, according to a police report.

Gee failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign in the 100 block of Flagg Street, the report stated.

Police say after Gee's vehicle was stopped, he gave false information regarding his identity to officers.

After running Gee's information through a national database, police say they were able to determine who he was and that he had active warrants in Georgia.

Copies of the warrants were being obtained by police in order for a hold to be placed on Gee.

A warrant request for fugitive from justice will be completed on Gee and an extradition hearing will be scheduled, according to Myrtle Beach Police Capt. David Knipes.
