WPDE NewsChannel 15 and other local media outlets helped the American Red Cross raise around $31,000 for its Windsor Green fire relief efforts Thursday at Tanger Outlets on Highway 501.

The fire, which started as a grass fire Saturday evening, spread to the Windsor Green complex and destroyed 109 condos in 26 buildings.

About 190 people were left homeless.

Tanger Outlets hosted the fundraiser.
