(AP) -- QUANTICO, Va - A lockdown has been lifted, but three Marines including a suspect are dead of gunshot wounds at their base in Quantico, Va.

Authorities at Quantico Marine base say a Marine suspected of shooting to death a male and female colleague before killing himself was believed to have been a staff member at the officer candidate school.

A base spokesman says after one Marine was killed late Thursday night, the gunman barricaded himself in the barracks.

That led to a standoff with the suspect.

Authorities entered the barracks early Friday morning and found the suspect and a third Marine dead.
