Safe Auto is looking to sell its now vacant building following the closing of its call center in the Hemingway community of Williamsburg County.

Safe Auto Vice President Mark LeMaster says they met with county and state officials Wednesday regarding the 22,500 square-foot facility.

He added they're specifically looking for other companies with call centers who may be interested in buying the building.

LeMaster isn't saying what the building is worth.

The call center closed Tuesday sending 165 employees to the unemployment lines.

LeMaster says the closing was a part of their needs to reduce space and had nothing to do with the workers performance.

The employees received pay for the next 60 days and were told to apply for unemployment benefits.

Safe Auto's call center had been in Williamsburg County since 2003.
