The Robeson County Sheriff's Office has arrested Shilec Rothwell, 20, and charged him with killing Willie Manning, 61.
Captain Anthony Thompson says Rothwell shot and killed Manning at a home on Stealth Drive in Maxton Sunday night.
A 54-year-old man was also shot, but survived.
Deputies say the victims were friends.
Thompson says the motive appears to be robbery.
Rothwell is charged with First Degree Murder, Attempted Robbery With A Deadly Weapon, Breaking and Entering, Assault With a Deadly Weapon With Intent To Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, Attempted First Degree Murder and Conspiracy To Committ Armed Robbery.
Rothwell is being held in the Robeson County Detention Center.
