The Salvation Army of Horry County is coordinating its services to fire victims by working collaboratively with The American Red Cross, Goodwill, United Way and other agencies.

Michele Borbely, Case Worker for The Salvation Army, is seeing displaced families at the X Sports Center across from Beach Church on Fantasy Harbor in Myrtle Beach.

"Our aim is to get those displaced by the fire relocated as quickly as possible," said Major Bret McElroy, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army for Horry County.

"With the Red Cross and Goodwill meeting the immediate needs of shelter, food and clothing, we will be offering financial assistance to help them get relocated," McElroy said.

After people are served by the Red Cross at Beach Church, they are going to the X Sports Center across the street where they can get clothing and other items from Goodwill and will meet with The Salvation Army to get additional help in finding permanent housing.

"We will see each family individually and do everything we possibly can to get them relocated as quickly as possible" said Borbely.

To help families get relocated into permanent housing monetary donations can be sent to:

The Salvation Army P.O. Box 500 Conway, SC 29528

Credit Card donations can be given by calling The Salvation Army at (843) 488-2769 (ext. 27).

Other items such as food and clothing can be taken to The X Sports Center at 568 George Bishop Parkway, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.

The Salvation Army will take all donated items received for fire victims to the X Sports Center.

If you have any questions or need any additional information feel free to call Bret McElroy at (843) 488-2769.
