Police investigate home invasion and shooting in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach police were called to an apartment complex Thursday night for a home invasion and shooting.

It happened about 9:15 p.m. at 6703 Jefferson Place at the Colony Club Apartments.

A witness approached officers and said a 48-year-old female victim came to his door and was injured.

That woman told officers her friend was shot.

A 52-year-old female victim ran out of the house.

Officers searched the apartment and no one was inside.

The victims were taken to the hospital.

Two male suspects are listed in the police report, and it states the men took off in a vehicle.

$220 was taken from the apartment.

"This was not a random act and involves illegal drug activity," Captain David Knipes with the Myrtle Beach Police Department said.
