COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Members of a campaign to help South Carolina students get to college are scheduled to hold a workshop on easing the route to securing financial aid.

SC CAN, an effort on the part of the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education, is sponsoring the event Saturday at the Richland County Library in Columbia.

The event is free and open to the public from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The workshop is designed to provide assistance in filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, which schools require for financial assistance. Information about other forms of financial assistance also will be available.
