ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - The man who runs South Carolina's Medicaid program and the director of a hospital in Anderson will debate whether the state should accept federal money to expand Medicaid.

The discussion is part of a breakfast meeting scheduled for Thursday morning with the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce.

Department of Health and Human Services Director Tony Keck will talk about why he thinks the state shouldn't accept federal money to expand Medicaid. Keck says once the federal government stops paying entirely for the expansion in a few years, it will cost South Carolina a lot more money.

AnMed Health CEO John Miller will give his reasons the state should take the money offered under the new health care law backed by President Barack Obama, including helping economic expansion in South Carolina.
