Former Darlington Raceway president and SC State Representative Woody McKay from Timmonsville helped police capture a man suspected of being a thief.

Police say security cameras caught the man going from boat to boat stealing electronics and other items from 10 boats in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

After seeing the surveillance video, McKay spotted the man in the parking lot.

"It was identical, even wearing the same clothes, the same hoodie and the same cap," McKay told WFTV. "I went back inside and told some of my colleagues the guy was in the parking lot."

When the suspect Michael Alderman, 51, took off running, McKay followed, tackled him, and held him down until police arrived.
