The Canal Street Museum of African-American History opened in Myrtle Beach Friday.
The museum shows the works of scientists, athletes, artists and others, providing an in-depth look at contributions of African-Americans around the world.
"We have Mr. Lorenzo Burgess, who actually grew up in the neighborhood, who has an invention patent," said Docshee Moore, Recreation Supervisor.
The exhibit takes us back from slave days to the current days.
The museum is open seven days a week and admission is free.
