COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- A state lawmaker is proposing that all members of the South Carolina State University Board of Trustees be replaced.

Bamberg Rep. Bakari Sellers introduced the measure Wednesday.

Four of the university's trustees have resigned during the past year.

Earlier this month, former chairman Jonathan Pinson and a business partner were indicted in a public corruption investigation involving a proposed land deal at the university.

The former police chief at the Orangeburg institution, Michael Bartley, pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge in connection with the investigation.
