Business leaders and owners from the Grand Strand hopped on a bus and travelled to Columbia Wednesday to let lawmakers know what they expect from them.

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the event, and legislators from all over the state were invited.

Jeffrey Wisniewski, with Arcadian Shores Golf Course wants lawmakers to realize just how much money the Grand Strand produces in tax revenue, and asks for a fair share of it back.

"We are trying to make sure that folks know that Horry County is a feeder county. We do send alot to Columbia and we'd like to see more of that head back to us, so that we can continue to make progress along the Grand Strand,"said Wisniewski.

State Representative Gary Simrill, from Rock Hill says building roads was what he heard most from business leaders. He says they told him, "More roads and more infrastructure and of course we want easier and safer ways to get to the beach."
