North Myrtle Beach police are searching for a man who cashed fraudulent checks for $4,500 in November.

Carl Preston Johnson Jr., 30, of Loris is wanted for Forgery and crimes against a federally chartered or insured financial institution (bank fraud).

The victim told police his name and business address had fraudulently been used on checks that were cashed at Anderson Brothers Bank.

The bank confirmed that Johnson, a customer of the bank, presented two checks that were supposedly signed by the victim.

Bank officials have contacted Johnson to repay the money, but he refused to return any money, the report says.

Anyone with information is asked to call North Myrtle Beach police at 843-280-5511.
