Mall security officer arrested for shoplifting

Saturday afternoon, Horry County Police responded to a report of shoplifting at the Steinmart in Murrells Inlet.

According to police report, a loss prevention employee saw Shawn Lynn Westover slip pieces of jewelery into her pocket. Police arrived at the store to arrest Westover and learned she works as a security officer at the Inlet Square Mall where Steinmart is located.

Westover was taken to J. Reuben Long Detention Center and has since been released from jail on bond.
