Some Marlboro County students finally started attending their new school Thursday.

Kindergartners through 8th graders now go to the new Blenheim Elementary.

The district is busing 7th and 8th graders from Bennettsville as part of the Middle School Academy.

The school's principal says students seem more eager to learn in their brand new, state of the art school.

"With this facility, we have better technology. We have better science labs. So , of course we're expecting great things from our students," said Dr. Gwen Dixon-Coe, the new principal.

Blenheim Elementary/Middle is a green school, meaning it is environmentally friendly.

Marlboro County also plans to build a school in the Wallace area.
