A 21-year-old man that passed away in September in a hotel died accidentally, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Tony Hendrick.
On September 12, 2012 Horry County police responded to a call of an unresponsive man at the Carolina Inn Hotel off of Highway 701, according to the police report.
Once police arrived, EMS ruled the man dead. Deputy Coroner Hendrick said he died due to a drug-induced cardiac arrhythmia.
Police found Belonda Renee Davis, 29, of Loris and her two children in the hotel room as well.
Davis was arrested and charged after police said she allowed her kids to be around illegal drugs and the dead man.
Officers found marijuana, a crack pipe, what appeared to be Sudafed, and various prescription drugs.
The Department of Social Services was called to take the children into protective custody and Davis was arrested.
Davis was sent to J. Reuben Long Detention center, where she was charged with two counts of Unlawful Neglect of a Child.
She was released on bond the next day.
