The bell tolled 26 times at First Baptist Church in Hartsville Friday morning in honor of the 26 victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting in Connecticut one week ago Friday.
The nation observed a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m., exactly one week to the hour of the shooting.
You could hear it ringing throughout the city.
City leaders asked churches in the area to participate in the moment of silence.
