One person was taken to the hospital after a portion of a porch collapsed Wednesday afternoon.
At the New Beginning Beauty Salon in the Cherry Grove section of North Myrtle Beach, four people were on the deck that stands five feet off the ground before it fell.
The deck was connected to the building, according to city spokesperson Pat Dowling.
The injured person was taken to McLeod Loris Seacoast, said Dowling. The others involved are fine, he added.
City building inspectors will assess the porch to see why it collapsed and to make sure it is repaired properly.
