Three men have been arrested in connection with a home invasion that occurred in Loris over the weekend in which a family was held at gunpoint and a chase ensued, according to a police report.

Maurice Alexander Morris, 21, Troy Tereal Gibson, 21, and K'Shawn Aldontay Morris, 19, all of Loris, are charged with six counts of Kidnapping, Burglary 1st Degree, Armed Robbery, and Resisting Arrest.

K'Shawn Morris is also charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm.

On Saturday, Horry County police responded to a home on Camp Swamp Rd. in Loris in reference to a possible home invasion.

When officers arrived, they learned that three men had entered the home while the family was decorating for the holidays. The suspects held the family at gunpoint while taking several items from within the home, including jewelry, electronics and prescription medication, according to a new release.

The suspects then fled the scene in the family car, a 2007 Toyota.

Officers began searching for the car and located it on Freemont Rd. in Longs.

Officers attempted to make a traffic stop on the stolen car, however the suspects refused to stop and a police chase began.

The press release says the three suspects jumped out of the car while it was still in gear, causing the vehicle to strike a house.

Officers then chased the suspects on foot. During the foot chase, K'Shawn Morris was carrying a firearm in his pants. He fell while officers were chasing him. When he fell, the gun went off, striking him in the leg.

Detectives with the Horry County Police Department's Violent Crimes Section responded to the scene and began an investigation.

As a result of the investigation, the other two suspects were identified and warrants were obtained.

On Tuesday, detectives and officers with the Horry County Police Department along with agents of the US Marshal Task Force searched for and located both suspects.

They were taken into custody without incident and are currently being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
