Police say one person has died and another was wounded from a shooting in Horry County.

Around 3 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a shooting in the Freemont area of Longs, according to Horry County police Cpl. Justin Jones.

Horry County deputy coroner Tony Hendrick says 37-year-old Corey M. Williams died at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds. The shooting happened at a mobile home at 626 Geranium Road.

A 32-year-old woman was found next to Williams' feet with a gunshot wound to her stomach area.

The woman's uncle told police he was approaching the home when he heard two gunshots. Officers found Williams laying on the bedroom floor with an apparent gunshot wound to his head.

The woman claimed she and the man were "just playing" and "he shot her" and then "shot himself," according to the report.

The woman told officials that the shooting was an accident.

The incident remains under investigation.
