A fugitive who has evaded Horry County police and Georgetown County deputies was tracked down and taken into custody by US Marshals Monday.

Kendrick Green, 28, was accused of an Attempted Murder in September 2011. Police say he hit a man in the head with a pistol and shot him in the thigh on Racepath Street near Myrtle Beach.

After receiving a tip that Green was at Waccamaw Community Hospital visiting a patient in December of 2011, Georgetown County deputies and Horry County police searched for Green for five hours. They never found him.

Then in February 2012, another tip was received saying Green was at Secrets Nightclub in Horry County.

Police chased Green into a wooded area off Chestnut Road where bloodhounds and police caught him.

On October 1, 2012, Green pled guilty to Assault and Battery First Degree.

Judge Benjamin Culbertson sentenced Green to five years and released him to see his family, according to Horry County Deputy Solicitor Jimmie Richardson.

Green was to turn himself in at 2 p.m. that day, but failed to show up, said Richardson.

Green was found by the US Marshals on Monday in Myrtle Beach around 12:45 p.m.

He was then booked into the Myrtle Beach Jail and transported to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

He now faces a charge of Failing to Appear After Release for Felony.
