A man died after being hit by a vehicle in Horry County Thursday night.
It happened around 7:30 p.m. on George Bishop Parkway near the intersection of Fantasy Harbour Boulevard close to the Big "D" Barbeque restaurant, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers say a SUV was heading eastbound on George Bishop Parkway when it hit a man crossing the road.
According to Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler, the man was 66 years old. Fowler believes the man is from upstate South Carolina.
He died from multiple trauma. We're told no charges are expected to be filed because the pedestrian was unlawfully in the roadway.
The investigation is ongoing.
