Darlington County officials say a man died in a car crash Saturday night near Lamar.
County Coroner J. Todd Hardee said Christopher Anthony Shields, 22, of Florence died shortly before midnight after his Jeep Cherokee left the roadway, struck an embankment and rolled.
Shields was traveling south on Weaver Road about 2.6 miles east of Lamar, said Hardee.
Shields died at the scene, according to Hardee.
The accident is being investigated by South Carolina Highway Patrol, Darlington County Sheriff's Office and the Coroner's Office.
