MYRTLE BEACH --

MYRTLE BEACH -- A South Carolina Highway Patrol officer was involved in a collision Saturday around 6:30 a.m. on George Bishop Parkway near the former Hard Rock amusement park.

Leo Tarris Hamby, 36, of Conway is charged with Failure to Yield to the Right of Way, according to Horry County Sheriff Sgt. Sherri Smith.

Hamby was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Officers performed a field sobriety test on Hamby and he passed.

Smith says the Trooper has been released from the hospital and is in good condition.

Smith adds they do not anticipate any other charges to follow.
