Sandy will move away from the Bahamas today and pass a few hundred miles off of the Carolina Coast over the weekend. It will bring some impacts to our area beginning today and lasting through Sunday. Sandy is a large system and will overspread the area with clouds today and increase rain chances along the coast late today and tonight. Winds will be gusting around 30 - 40 mph at times Saturday with highest gusts near the Grand Strand. As it strenghts, cold air will be pulled down from Canada into the Southeast as a cold front surges through late Sunday. Temps next week will struggle to hit the low/mid 60s with wakeup temps in the 30s and 40s.
