GEORGETOWN, S.C. (AP) - A festival along South Carolina's coast is celebrating the art of wooden boatbuilding.

The Harbor Historical Association of Georgetown on Saturday is presenting the 23rd Annual Wooden Boat Show.

Everything is scheduled for Front Street in downtown Georgetown. The daylong show features one of the nation's best wooden boat exhibits, and more than 100 classic wooden boats will be on display.

There is also a wooden boatbuilding competition, knot tying, crafts, food and music.

Visitors will also have a chance to talk with wooden boat craftsmen, manufacturers and owners. There's also a competition to build a 12-foot skiff within a four-hour time limit.

Admission is free to the public. Proceeds from the event go toward the operation and development of the South Carolina Maritime Museum.
