Friday, October 5th, Hartsville defensive lineman Ronald Rouse died after collapsing during a football game.

Friday, October 12th, the Hartsville Red Foxes played their first game this season without #74.

Before the game against Manning High School in Manning, there was a moment of silence. People in Manning made ribbons and passed them out for everyone to wear, and a large ribbon was painted on the field with "RR" written on it.

Hartsville players also had a "74" sticker on their helmets.

Ronald Rouse's grandfather, Alexander Moore, attended the game and told us that's what his grandson would have wanted, "He wouldn't have wanted me to stay home and listen to the game on the radio. He would have wanted me to be here cheering the Foxes on tonight."
