MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WPDE) - Family, friends, and community members solemnly celebrated Brittanee Drexel's 21st birthday Sunday evening during a candlelight vigil.
About 30 people gathered at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach around a tree planted in her honor earlier this year. Brittanee's mom, Dawn, says she's thankful the community has supported them in their efforts to find Brittanee. She's been missing since April 2009.
"I remember when she was a baby. She wanted to do a lot of things on her birthday and someone took that away from us," says Dawn.
The family also released balloons for Brittanee.
