The Fall Bike Rally has arrived and thousands of Harley Davidson motorcycles are expected on the Grand Strand this week.

Bikers will be participating in charity rides and shopping for bike accessories at dozens of vendors.

Organizers say the rally is still recovering after Myrtle Beach passed a helmet law in 2008, and many bikers boycotted the spring and fall rallies.

The law was overturned and organizers are hoping for a big turnout for this fall's rally.

"Lots of bikes, lots of people, we're expecting to get the weather out of the way and then we're going to have tons of people, lots of bikes," said Dave Robinson of Myrtle Beach Harley Davidson.

Horry County handed out more than 40 vendor permits this year, up from the 30 issued last year.

The rally started Monday and will continue through Sunday.
