A 72-year-old woman suffered a broken leg as her purse was being forcibly stolen Monday in Hartsville.

Pamela Bramlett Howell, 39, was arrested by Hartsville police Tuesday morning and charged with Strong Armed Robbery and Assault and Battery.

Howell took the victim's pocketbook from her at the Piggly Wiggly on Fifth Street, according to Hartsville Police Chief James Hudson.
