Roof catches fire at Otis Elevator

At 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, the West Florence Fire department responded to 1500 Otis Way for a reported building fire.

Crews arrived on scene and found that a first level roof had caught on fire while workers were welding on the test tower.

A small portion of the roof was damaged and firefighters ensured that the fire did not extend beyond the point of origin.

No injuries were reported.
