Horry County firefighters were called to Oak Log Lake Road off Highway 905 about 1 p.m. Thursday to find a man's body in a pond.

Firefighters say when the family called 911, they said the body was bloody. But first responders say he was not.

The pond is in a family's yard.

Investigators pulled the body out of the water just after 2:30 p.m.

He's been identified as Lester Causey, Jr., 44.

Police are treating the case as a suspicious death, although there are no obvious signs of foul play, according to Horry County police Sgt. Robert Kegler. He says they'll know more after an autopsy is performed, possibly tomorrow morning.

Kegler says they are not treating the case as a homicide.
