Myrtle Beach police are looking for a man they say broke into a home and attacked his wife while she was sleeping.

Around 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Kerry Chestnut, 44, of Myrtle Beach, broke into the upstairs window of a home on 67th Ave North and started shouting at the woman while she was sleeping downstairs, according to the police report.

Chestnut proceeded to argue with the woman, punched her in the chest and attacked her with a small 3-inch silver knife, according to the report.

The woman had two cuts, one to the left arm and one to the left side of her neck, before Chestnut left the home.

Police say the woman locked the door after Chestnut left. But Chestnut came back, yelled again, and left once more, this time in a white work van.

The woman told police that her and Chestnut have been married for five years.

Myrtle Beach police are still looking for Chestnut. If you know where he may be, call (843) 918-1382.
