Harry "Howie" Lavin is charged with check fraud or stopping a payment of $1,000.00 or more, according to the 15th Circuit Solicitor's Office.Howie and John Lavin are the owners of Lavin Cars, an Horry County car dealership that shut down on May 10.
The Lavin family has been selling cars in the Myrtle Beach area since 1987.
Shortly after the dealership shut down, Crescom bank filed a lawsuit against Lavin Cars that claims as of May 18, the Lavins owed the bank $1.9 million with interest accruing by the day.
