Grand Strand tourism officials have partnered up with the University of North Carolina in a new marketing initiative.

Starting Saturday, Visit Myrtle Beach ads will be on the Tar Heel sports website www.GoHeels.com broadcast, as well as on the radio.

Officials hope the year long partnership will bring more of them to the Grand Strand.

Brad Dean, President of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce says, "It allows us to reach North Carolina visitors who might be taking those weekend getaways outside of football games perhaps looking for a honeymoon or another vacation they could take during the fall and the winter."

Dean goes on to say he hopes the deal will lead to other partnerships with other universities.
