A boat capsized in Hogs Inlet Thursday morning, according to North Myrtle Beach Spokesman Pat Dowling.
The boat is a flat-bottomed vessel about 14 feet long, Dowling says.
He says only one person was on board, and that person held onto the side of the boat until another boat picked him up. He is safe and not hurt.
North Myrtle Beach lifeguards swam out to help in the rescue. They are also safe back on shore.
Hogs Inlet is outside the North Myrtle Beach city limits but the city maintains a lifeguard stand near the inlet, equipped with an ATV and other lifesaving gear so lifeguards can respond to Hogs Inlet rescues.
