Georgetown City Fire Department was called to a house fire in the 200 block of Screven Street about 8pm Tuesday.

That's near the courthouse in Georgetown.

They requested the help of Midway Fire to help battle the fire, which reportedly could be seen through the windows of the home.

According to the Georgetown Times, Mayor Jack Scoville said the house has received major damage.
