Dillon Police charged Ahmad Roqoine Rogers, 22, with Attempted Murder, Criminal Domestic Violence and Possession of a Weapon during the commission of a Crime.

Officers say he shot a 17-year-old girl in the head outside her home on South 11th Avenue in Dillon Thursday night.

She's in the hospital, but expected to be ok.

The incident report says Rogers began calling and texting the teenager to meet him outside her house. It says she didn't because she didn't want any trouble.

The police report says Rogers showed up at her door and confronted her about ending the relationship.

He hit her in the head with the gun, according to police.

They say after a couple of seconds, he put the gun to her head and pulled the trigger.

Rogers was arrested two miles away from the crime scene within a couple of hours.

He's being held at the Dillon County Detention Center.
