In 1998 Victoria was named Assistant News Director/Reporter for the Myrtle Beach bureau and in 1999 became News Director.
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH -- The National Weather Service did confirm that storms containing gusty winds and possibly a waterspout developed around 2:49 p.m. Thursday.
The storms were located around five miles east of North Myrtle Beach moving west.
North Myrtle Beach Public Information Officer Pat Dowling said the waterspout was spotted about half mile off shore due east of Main Street. There were no reports of any damage, and the spout dissipated very quickly.
Another mention on Facebook said the waterspout didn't last long but that it was very "cool."
The NWS does advise beachgoers seek shelter if a waterspout is spotted. Storms can produce the with little or no warning.
