A man's body was found in a pond Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of Hospitality Lane and Waccamaw Pines Drive. That's behind the Tanger Outlets on Highway 501.

Horry County Deputy Coroner Tamara Williard has identified the man as Kenneth Earl Strickland, 55, of Myrtle Beach.

Someone walking their dog saw the body and called police around noon.

Sgt. Robert Kegler says it does not appear that a crime has been committed.

Williard says the cause of death appears to be drowning, but that is from the preliminary observation.

A final autopsy will be performed to find the man's cause of death.
