The college students took Coastal Carolina University by storm Thursday, as the new school year officially begins with residence hall check-in day.
Nearly 3,000 freshmen and new transfer students are joining the university this fall.
Chauncey the mascot greeted many of them as they waited in line to check-in to their new homes.
The Grindle family of Oakwood, Ga. is dropping off their 5th and last child at school.
"Probably going to get an extra job or two to pay for tuition and all but it'll be fine. We'll get through it. We're looking forward to it," said Larry and Susanna Grindle.
New student convocation is Friday in the new convocation center.
Students will be able to meet the university president, deans, and faculty as they get used to their new home.
