An Ash, North Carolina man pleaded guilty Wedneday to voluntary manslaughter for a death in Little River.
A judge sentenced Thomas Shipplett to ten years.
Police said Shipplett shot Dale Hammond several times at his vacation home on River Road in July 2009.
There was a mistrial in the case in April.
Police say Shipplett and hammond were acquaintances.
