A cold front moving into the Carolinas today will bring an increase in tropical moisture to the area this afternoon. The chance for scattered storms will be around the area through this evening out ahead of the front that will push off the coast overnight. A few strong to severe storms will be possible with damaging wind gusts, hail, and intense lightning possible. Typical August heat will settle in for a few days before our next cold front comes in and stalls out over the weekend. This front will bring in another round of scattered rain and storms throughout the weekend, but temps will be down to the mid/upper 80s by Sunday.
A few weak waves out in the tropics are showing potetial for further tropical development. One wave in the central Atlantic is slowly becoming better organized and is showing a high potential for further development. It may become Tropical Depression #8 over the next few days. This system is not expected to impact the US and forecat to stay out to sea. Another wave in the Caribbean, the remnants of Tropical Depression #7, is showing only nearly a 0% chance for development over the next 2 day.
