Where to Retire, a magazine that assists people in retirement relocation decisions, says Myrtle Beach is one of the top "15 Low-Cost Towns" in the United States.
The article ranked cities according to below average living costs, city appeal and amount of leisure activities for retirees along with others.
According to the magazine, 700,000 Americans relocate to new towns to retire. Relocating retirees are described as generally healthier, better educated and more affluent.
