Plane crashes in Florence County corn field

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) - Florence County 911 confirms a plane went down this afternoon.

Firefighters on scene say the plane crashed in a corn field off Poor Farm Rd. in Florence County. The pilot and passengers appear to be okay.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration website, the Beech fixed wing single engine plane is registered to John M. Kennedy in Herndon, VA.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. When new details are available we'll post them here.
